Marty Crow

Marty Crow is a character who appears in the short stories of Rob Lopresti. Marty is a private detective in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

His friend Sergeant Stanislaw once said that Crow is the fourth best private eye in Atlantic City. Marty replied that he is third best since one of his rivals went back to parking cars for a living.

What keeps Marty from the top of the heap is a gambling problem - and Atlantic City is full of casinos, of course. Marty admits to occasionally buying a lottery ticket, but denies he has a habit. His friends say the record speaks for itself.

Stories have been published about Marty in P.I. Magazine, Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine, Futures, and Constable New Crimes 2, part of a British hardcover series edited by Maxim Jakubowski.

"Crow's Feat" was one of four stories nominated by the members of Bouchercon (the world mystery convention) for the Anthony Award for best mystery story in 1994.
