Uncle Victor
This is the best existing picture of Uncle Victor (he is the one with his shoes on). Al Klosterman drew it to illustrate "Uncle Victor on Watch" and it appeared in the Fall 1997 issue of Murderous Intent Mystery magazine. It is used here by permission of Klosterman and MIMM

Uncle Victor is a character who appears in the short stories of Rob Lopresti. Uncle Victor is an elderly, eccentric member of an organized crime family. His nephew Benny is the head of the Family.

Several older members think that Benny is too young and has no respect for tradition. They remember that the last wish of Benny's father - the last boss - was that he take good care of his uncle, so Benny is most reluctantly stuck with Victor.

In the first story Uncle Victor has decided he wants to be a private detective and Benny pulls strings to get him a license. In each story our hero uses his own unique methods (and sometimes a little pull from Benny) to solve crimes.

So far all the stories have all appeared in the late lamented Murderous Intent Mystery Magazine. See the bibliography for a list.
